Terms Of Service

• Work is for private non-commercial use. Unless we discuss licensing beforehand, you are not permitted to profit off of artwork I have created, including altering it to place on merchandise. If you want a piece for commercial use, contact me. If you want to sell work with a design, contact me beforehand and we will discuss the licensing and other applicable fees.

• I retain ownership of my work as well as the right to post in any of my online galleries. For exclusive posting rights for private commissions, an additional fee will apply.

• You must be 18+ to commission me. Even if your request is SFW, you need to be 18+ to purchase my work.

• When you contact me for a quote I will also provide a rough time estimate for when you can expect delivery. If you need a piece urgently I will do my best to accommodate, although a rush fee may apply.

• I can refuse a request for any reason. This includes if a request contains certain subject matters I have no interest in creating content for. Feel free to ask about your ideas; I will let you know if one is not in my wheelhouse.

• No refunds on custom work. Once you approve the piece and/or the work is in progress or done, I cannot provide refunds.

 

Content

For a specific subject matter not listed, feel free to ask! Talking and discussion is free, and all inquiries are answered without judgement. 

Will draw: 

• Original characters, including those from D&D, TTRPGs, MMORPGs, RP, and other OCs.

• Comics, posters, large-form pieces

• Digital and traditional work (shipping of original pieces can be available for additional cost)

• Humans and humanoids

• Furries (anthro and feral)

• Fanart

• Real people (SFW only)

• NSFW (humanoid and anthro characters only, characters must be 18+ and consenting)

• Reference Sheets

• Character Design

Won’t draw: 

• Mecha

• Hateful or offensive imagery

• Subjects I find personally distasteful

References 

If you are requesting art without a clear reference of the character, it  will cost +20% in addition to the base price of the piece, unless you are specifically commissioning a character design. Image collages, while helpful, do not negate this price. This fee corresponds with the process of me working with you to create your character, which requires significantly more skill and time than working from an established design.

 

When making an inquiry or requesting a commission, please send the following information:

• References (drawings, photos, text descriptions, etc.) of your character, their clothes and weapons, poses you may have in mind. Even a stick figure is helpful for me, so please do not be shy about sending whatever you can to communicate your idea!

• (Optional but helpful) Character description (personality, short background or history, any pertinent or important details, etc.)

Payment

 

All payments are made through Paypal: at the appropriate step in the process I will send you an invoice. This is the most secure method and protects us both. If given the option, please make sure to select “no shipping address needed”. Also DO NOT mention NSFW or any related content on the invoice. Work will pause until the invoice is paid.

For sketches and smaller pieces I receive payment upfront. For color renders and larger pieces you pay the full amount after approving the sketch. I will send you WIPs for your approval throughout the process so you can give feedback at every stage. After the sketch is approved, major redraws will incur a 15% price penalty for each iteration. Please give detailed feedback and have a clear idea of what you are looking for to minimize reworks.

Other Notes

 

• I will happily edit a piece if I am missing details or have rendered them incorrectly by my own fault. If your references are unclear or the detail was not mentioned, this may incur an extra charge if it is not a quick fix. If you would like any major changes such as pose edits, you must let me know when i send your sketch, otherwise it will incur the 15% major editing fee. 

• You are welcome to upload your completed artwork on your own account/other social media accounts, but you must credit me (AFearsomeArtisan) and do not remove my signature. You may of course claim the character as yours, but do not claim the art piece itself.

• The owners of all non-fandom characters to be featured in NSFW commissions must be aware of the commission and have given permission for their character to be featured. I do not take surprise NSFW commissions unless clear permission is provided on the characters’ owners’ accounts to do so.

• Failure to comply with terms of service can result in a ban or warning being given, banned users are blocked and not allowed to commission or adopt characters from me.

• I reserve the right to refuse a commission to anyone for any reason.

• I take around a week to complete most work, depending on the size of the commission and my queue. Large pieces, such as comics and reference sheets, may take longer. If you have not been contacted by me three days after you have reached out, please contact me again.

• When commissioning a complex piece, please send everything as compactly as possible (all information/pictures in one document or collage) and your ideas in one or two messages. This helps me get a clearer idea of what you’re looking for as quickly as possible.
